In particular the NPC has been designed to integrate into an evolving utility communication infrastructure where there is likely to be extensive use of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs),their configuration software,and supporting systems. The compact 19" Rack or Bench mounting chassis benefits from a completely fan-less cooling system;delivering high performance,a quiet working environment and low cost of ownership without compromise. The NPC is based on Intel Celeron M technology and provides one 10/100/1000 BaseT and four 10/100 BaseT LAN ports to provide up to 5 Ethernet connections,8 serial ports,2 USB 2.0 ports,a VGA port and 8 Digital Inputs/Digital Outputs. The serial communication interface plate benefits from an optional choice of connector types offering an alternative to standard D-Type connectors.
