Customer Service and Warranty
Contact information for NCTE AG's customer service is provided. The product comes with a 12-month warranty from delivery, contingent on proper use and adherence to maintenance guidelines.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes a calibrated sensor, a signal processing unit, a 5m connection cable, and a calibration certificate.
Declaration of Conformity
The product complies with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and relevant standards, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility.
Safety Instructions
The sensor is intended for measuring torque and speed within specified load ranges. Unauthorized modifications void the warranty. Personnel must be trained and understand the safety instructions.
Torque Sensor Series 4000 Overview
The Series 4000 is used for precise torque measurement in various fields, supporting both static and dynamic measurements with analog outputs. Proper alignment during assembly is crucial, and the cable should not exceed 5m.
Operation and Maintenance
Regular operation requires adherence to nominal torque specifications. Overloading can damage the sensor. Maintenance includes annual recalibration and inspection of wiring and connectors.
Technical Specifications
Key features include a nominal torque of up to 1000 Nm, speed up to 10000 rpm, accuracy within ±0.1%, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The sensor is IP50 rated and offers output signals of 0-10V or 4-20mA.
Specifications and Torque Ranges
The Series 4000 torque sensors are available in round and square shaft models, with nominal torque ranging from 50 Nm to 1000 Nm. RPM limits vary depending on the shaft diameter, and sensors must operate within specified nominal torque ranges to avoid measurement offsets.
Load Characteristics
The sensors have defined limits for axial force, transverse force, and bending moments, with specified permissible stress levels to prevent sensor damage.
Technical Characteristics
The sensors have an accuracy class of 0.1, with linearity deviation and rotational signal uniformity both under ±0.1% ME. They are designed to be insensitive to bending and shearing forces.
EMV Emission Data
The sensors comply with various EMV immunity and interference standards, including IEC 61000-4-2 and IEC 61000-4-3, ensuring they pass tests for static electricity discharge and electromagnetic fields.
Wiring and Connections
Detailed wiring diagrams and connector specifications are provided, including pin assignments and color coding according to DIN 47100. The sensors support both voltage and current outputs.
Order Options and Accessories
Order options include different measuring ranges, angle sensors, and output types. Accessories such as readout units and couplings are available, with specific order numbers provided for each configuration.
General Information
The sensors have a protection class of IP50 and operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. They are designed for high alternating loads and torque transmission via suitable couplings.

Please note the enclosed sheet on the warning notes. 2.1 Intended use The sensors of the Series 4000 are designed exclusively for measuring torque and/or speed. The respective load range can be taken from the data sheet and must not be exceeded. Proper use also includes compliance with the commissioning, assembly, operating, ambient and maintenance conditions specified by the manufacturer. Any use beyond these is considered improper. The manufacturer is not liable for any damage resulting from such use. 2.2 Recalibration and duration of use A factory recalibration should be executed annually....

Torque Sensor Series 4000 The Series 4000 serves the segment of very precise and reliable torque measurement technology. 3.1 Short description The series is mainly used in laboratories, test fields and trials, in medical technology as well as in production monitoring and quality assurance. With the Series 4000, torques can be measured statically as well as dynamically in real time. The shaft is available as round and square. Each sensor can be configured individually, so there is the option of an angle sensor. Analogue outputs 0-10V or 4-20mA are available as signal outputs for the Series 4000....

3.5 Operation during regular mode Optimal measuring values are achieved when the sensor is used while maintaining the specific nominal torque. If the permissible operating conditions are observed, the sensor operates trouble-free and maintenance-free. 3.6 Irregular operation, actions in case of failures If the sensor is mechanically overloaded (e.g. if the maximum permissible longitudinal force or torque limit is exceeded or if there are strong vibrations), the sensor may be damaged and the signal output may be distorted. In this case do not open the device. Contact NCTE AG directly. 3.7 Safety...

1 Specified values only apply to direct axial force on the shaft. If the axial force acts on the circlip, only 50 % of the force is permissible. 2 The accuracy class means that the linearity deviation as well as the circulation modulation, individually, are each less than or equal to the value specified as the accuracy class. The accuracy class must not be confused with a classification according to DIN 51309 or EA-10/14. 3 % ME: Related to the measuring range. 4 Zero point can be set to 5 V using a tare button. 5 The exact sensor-specific values can be found in the calibration certificate supplied....
