Product catalog summary
Introduction
This document serves as a comprehensive guide on chain, belt, and sliding guides, focusing on the construction with plastic guides, steel C profiles, and various types of chain guides. It highlights the importance of lubrication and wear resistance in applications involving metallic materials.
Construction with Plastic Guides
Plastic guides are noted for their high wear resistance, good sliding properties, and self-lubricating features. They are resistant to impact and breakage, even at low temperatures, and have high chemical resistance. Key considerations include static and dynamic loads, environmental factors, and attachment methods.
Steel C Profiles
Steel C profiles are recommended for fastening plastic guides due to their stability and ease of replacement. They are available in galvanized, stainless steel, and untreated variants, with a selection table provided for dimensions and article numbers.
Fastening of Steel C Profiles
Fastening methods include using T-head bolts for secure connections. Specifications for T-head bolts are included, with advice to consult the application technology department for optimal solutions.
Special Profiles
Custom profiles can be produced according to individual specifications if standard designs do not meet requirements, encouraging collaboration with the application technology department for custom solutions.

CHAIN, BELT, AND SLIDING GUIDES Advantages of Murtfeldt chain guides Chain guides Where there is friction, there is wear. This is especially the case for applications where metallic materials are used. For example, for chains that run on metal guides, regular lubrication is absolutely vital. The aim is to achieve quiet, smooth running and long-term functional reliability. Murtfeldt chain guides protect your chains. They guarantee optimum running properties at the same time as extremely high wear resistance. The tried-and-tested Material ”S”® and the economical alternative ”S”®1000 have ideal...

CONSTRUCTION WITH PLASTIC GUIDES Construction using thermoplastics requires careful consideration beforehand. The conditions of use have a direct influence on the material selection and design of the plastic guides. You should answer the following questions in advance: To what static and dynamic loads will the guide be exposed? To what environmental factors, such as chemicals, hot or cold water, steam, or contaminants will the material be exposed? In comparison with metallic materials, thermoplastics have a higher coefficient of linear thermal expansion. Calculation When calculating the expansion,...

Regardless of the fastening method chosen, you should design your plant so that the material can expand. The easiest and most efficient fastening method is to fasten the guide using our steel C profiles. The advantages of Murtfeldt steel C profiles Simple assembly/disassembly of the guide system Steel C profiles also act as stable fasteners and can be welded or screwed on as required. We recommend the use of DIN screws or special assembly using T-head bolts (see pages 8 - 9).
