FlowSwitch FS 710

Product catalog summary
Application
The FlowSwitch FS 710 is designed for monitoring dust concentration behind bag or cartridge filters, installed on the clean air side. It detects filter damage, allowing timely replacement to prevent production downtime and environmental pollution. This is crucial in environments with heavily contaminated air, recirculation, strict emission limits, or dust reuse.

Scope of Use
The FS 710 is applicable in various industries including aluminum, bakeries, building materials, cement, chemical, fertilizer, food, glass production, mills, pharmaceuticals, power plants, pulp and paper, steel, surface cleaning, and wood industries.

Main Benefits
  • Prevents uncontrolled dust emissions and unnecessary cleaning.
  • Ensures clean recirculated air and compliance with emission limits.
  • Eliminates the need for additional emergency filters.
  • Fast detection of filter damage, unaffected by dust buildup.
  • Robust, maintenance-free design with simple automatic calibration.
  • Easy installation into existing air ducts.

Function
The FS 710 operates on the triboelectric effect, detecting electrically charged particles near the sensor rod. It triggers pre-alarms and main alarms for filter wear and breakage, respectively, using two relays. The sensor is maintenance-free and available in an ATEX version for hazardous zones.

Installation
Installation involves welding a threaded socket onto the pipe and drilling a hole for the sensor rod. The rod should be at least 1/3 of the pipe diameter and not touch the opposite side. Calibration occurs in clean air over 10 minutes, with manual sensitivity adjustment.

FlowSwitch FS 710-1

I Your safe choice The FlowSwitch FS 710 monitors the dust concentration behind a bag or cartridge filter. It is installed on the clean air side of the filter. It identifies if a filter is damaged, e.g. by cracks, fractures or assembly errors. This allows to replace a damaged or broken filter in time, without losing production time and without polluting the shopfloor or environment. Dust monitors are especially important in case of heavily contaminated air, recirculation into the factory, strict external emmision limits or dust reusage.
