Product catalog summary
Introduction to MDW® Technology
MDW® (Multi Directional Weaving) is an innovative technology developed by Jakob Müller AG for use in NFM® narrow fabric looms and MÜGRIP® MBJ8 label weaving machines. It enhances traditional weaving techniques by incorporating a flexible weft laying device, allowing for the production of multi-axial products in a single process.

Narrow Fabric Weaving Systems
The NFM® series includes various models such as NFM® 53 8/27 MDW® RFID and NFM® 53 6/42 MDW®. These systems feature 2 to 4 guide bars and positive controlled effect thread transports. They require MÜCAD MDW® and mymuenet® software, along with a TexTrace license for RFID applications.

Label Weaving Systems
The MÜGRIP® MBJ8 MDW® is designed for label weaving, equipped with 2 guide bars and positive controlled effect thread transports. It also utilizes MÜCAD MDW® and mymuenet® for efficient operation.

MDW® Process
The MDW® module introduces effect threads into the lower shed, creating a secondary shed alongside the warp thread shed. These threads are integrated into the fabric using insertion elements like weft needles or rapiers. The process is electronically controlled, ensuring precise placement of effect threads.

Software and Digital Integration
MÜCAD MDW® software facilitates user-friendly programming for warp and weft patterns, while mymuenet® digitizes the weaving production hall, optimizing production efficiency by allowing direct machine control.

VELVEDGE® Technology
VELVEDGE® offers superior slitting quality for smooth edges, replacing traditional cutting systems. It is particularly suitable for brand labels in the sportswear industry.

Applications
MDW® technology is applicable in various industries, including automotive, medical, garment, and home textiles. It supports the creation of functional textiles, smart textiles, and fashion textiles.

Patent Protection
Jakob Müller AG holds various patents to protect the MDW® technology and its applications from plagiarism.
