45CA

Product catalog summary
Overview: The 45CA Charge Amplifier is designed to condition and amplify signals from charge-mode accelerometers, particularly in environments like engine test cells. It provides a single channel of charge amplification with both buffered acceleration and integrated velocity signal outputs.
Specifications:
  • Inputs: Differential input with static discharge protection, connected via MS3101E-10SL-3P. Input impedance is 10Ω max, with a maximum input charge of 16,000 pC pk. Requires DC power between 20-30 volts.
  • Outputs: Typically differential, with single-ended as a factory option. Outputs include velocity and buffered acceleration via DB-9 connectors. Output impedance is 10Ω max, with a capacitance load of 0.1µF max. Linear output voltage is 17Vpk-pk max, and output current is 25 mA max. Linearity is within 2%, and residual noise is 1.0 mV RMS max at gain = 1, and 4.0 mV RMS max at gain = 10.
  • Physical Characteristics: Dimensions are 1.6” H x 2.6” W x 4.77” D (40.6 mm x 66 mm x 121 mm), weighing 8 oz. The case is made of aluminum, with standard DIN rail mounting and optional flange mount.
Configuration Options:
  • Channel gain settings available at 1, 4, 10 mV/pC.
  • Highpass filter options include 10, 15, 20, 25 Hz.
  • Output configurations can be differential or single-ended.

45CA-1

45CA Charge Amplifier The 45CA Charge Amplifier conditions and amplifies charge-mode accelerometer signals. It is a rugged device designed to be used in engine test cells and other environments where charge-mode accelerometers are used to measure machinery vibration. Each 45CA Charge Amplifier provides one (1) channel of charge amplification, and provides a buffered acceleration output signal as well as an integrated (velocity) signal output. Outputs may be configured (at the MTI Instruments factory) for either differential or singled ended configurations, for optional highpass filter settings, and for one of three different gain settings to match accelerometer sensitivities.
