Most specimen handling-related mechanical components are located above the workspace, leaving the deckӔ open. This allows the arrangement of processing equipment and queue areas to be optimized. > AutoSorter III is a stand-alone pre- and post-clinical specimen-processing platform. The instrument addresses the needs of mid-size and large hospital laboratories with specimen throughput capacity of 300-800 specimens per hour, depending upon processing requirements (centrifugation, decapping and/ or sorting) The Motoman AutoSorter III processes a wide variety of clinical specimen configurations to prepare them for loading into diagnostic instruments and systems, as well as consolidating post-clinical specimens and creating inventory files for archive. Centrifugation is performed (as required) by a fully integrated Hettich Rotanta centrifuge with capacity for 72 tubes per cycle. Decapper is provided for cap removal prior to sorting specimens to the target output racks. Like centrifugation, decapping is performed only when required by processing instructions. Input and output drawers are configurable to permit use of most popular instrument racks, including Siemens, Olympus, Hitachi/Roche, Sysmex and Motoman. LIS connectivity through Data InnovationsΒ Instrument Manager enables specimen processing instructions and sort results reporting in real time. This approach permits the AutoSorter III to act as an integral tool in the pre- and post- analytic specimen processing workflow with enhanced tracking and visibility of samples through archiving. Either specimen handler is capable of operating in stand-alone mode, to provide full instrument functionality (at reduced throughput) in case of a failure affecting one of the handlers. Motoman designed the instrument to fit into confined spaces. It can pass through a 0.9-m* doorway and fit into a 2.5-m elevator. > Dual Cartesian specimen handlers operate cooperatively, moving specimens between input drawers, centrifuge, decapper and output drawers within the instrument workspace. This arrangement provides a compact instrument with efficient footprint utilization. > INPUT RACKS, DECAPPER AND CENTRIFUGE The all servo-drive design, including Yaskawa linear servo motors, is ideal for high duty-cycle applications. It offers exceptional life and extended service intervals. Each handler is equipped with a servo-driven specimen gripper with attached barcode reader, and is capable of traversing the entire processing area. The use of multiple-handlers within a single platform provides the desired throughput and additional redundancy to assure availability of processing resources, even in case of component failure. > SORT TO A WIDE VARIETY OF RACK FORMATS Recapping: to provide post-clinical recap prior to archive. Contact Motoman for availability. > Integrated aliquot capability: to provide secondary tube labeling and liquid transfer. Contact Motoman for availability. Track connectivity: to enable transfer of specimens to a transportation conveyor as a sort target, as well as retrieval of specimens from a transportation conveyor as an input source. Requires compressed air source. > AutoSorter III is a free-standing instrument requiring no compressed air and minimal floorspace. This provides maximum flexibility in placement of the instrument within your laboratory. > * Some disassembly required size="-3">
