Principle of Operation: The SiloPatrol® SE Inventory Management System utilizes a cable-based "Smart" sensor, the Silo Monitoring Unit (SMU SE), designed for harsh level measurement conditions. It features Hall-effect technology and can be integrated with various operator interfaces and auxiliary outputs for tailored inventory management.

Features & Advantages: The SMU SE offers reliable measurements without the need for recalibration, making it economical for periodic measurements. It avoids issues like spurious reflections common in other technologies. Applications include grains, powders, chemicals, and more. Three models are available: Smart RS-485, Analog output, and Pulse output versions. Additional features include freeze-resistant mounting flanges, wireless sensor interfaces, and optional outputs for RS-485 systems.

Practical Applications: The system is suitable for materials with low dielectric constants, such as plastics. It features a Hall-effect sensor array to prevent the plumb bob from getting stuck, on-demand measurement capabilities, and electronic lock-out during filling operations. The system is virtually maintenance-free, requiring only periodic visual inspections.

Specifications: The SMU SE operates within a temperature range of -40°F to 300°F and supports a measurement range up to 150 feet. It offers high accuracy and repeatability, with various output signals including RS-485, pulse, and analog. The enclosure is rated NEMA 4X/IP66, suitable for ordinary and hazardous locations.
