Detail design, assembly and supply Goal of the project was the safety increase of a workspace: the client required the design and realization of a platform for a safe entrance to the control panel of a cereal-sorting machine. There were several design constraints: piping systems connected to the machine had to be overcome, there was a narrow space to install the access staircase, the slope of the existing flooring wasn’t negligeable, and there was the necessity of a walking surface with appropriate features for an ATEX area (environment with presence of dust and potential related risks). The M.M. Technical Team designed a platform tailor-made to suit the dimensions of the machinery and its surrounding space. A proper positioning of the supporting columns allowed to overcome potential clashes with the existing piping system. The columns, produced and installed at variable heights, have been equipped with on-site adjustable fixing systems to adapt to the flooring inclination. The platform has been provided with parapet modules of different heights, in order to allow the complete opening of the control panel hatch. The staircase, custom-built to be installed in the narrow available space, has been completed with a protective element to prevent the risk from any fall from the opening. In order to realize a surface finishing appropriate for an ATEX zone, a grating provided with the antistatic and antiskid ESD_LINE treatment has been installed.
