Product catalog summary
Overview
The SuSix® Turbidity and Suspended Solids Transmitter is a high-tech sensor designed for dual functionality, capable of measuring both turbidity in clear water and suspended solids in thick sludge. It features advanced optics with six optical windows and a patented measuring system, ensuring compliance with ISO 7027 standards.
Specifications
The sensor operates with a measuring range for turbidity from 0.001 to 9999 FNU/NTU and for suspended solids from 0.001 to 400 g/l. It includes a built-in data logger capable of storing 20,000 time-stamped logs, with data transferable to a PC via USB in CSV format.
Installation and Materials
SuSix® is designed for easy installation across various applications, supporting up to 300 meters of cable between the sensor and converter. It is constructed from acid-proof, full gloss steel coated with chrome-dioxide, and features scratch-resistant sapphire glass optical windows, minimizing cleaning needs. An optional mechanical self-cleaning system is available for extremely dirty applications.
Calibration and Maintenance
The sensors are factory-calibrated, requiring no user calibration for turbidity measurements and only zero-point calibration for suspended solids. Embedded algorithms ensure minimal calibration needs for most applications.
Converter and Communication
The SuSix® converter supports a logical menu structure with intuitive navigation, similar to mobile phone interfaces, and offers multiple language options. It includes one 4-20 mA output, two relays for control and alarms, and one digital input for range changes and alarm cancellation. The system supports Modbus® communication protocol for integration with PLC units, SCADA, and telemetry systems.
Reliability and Quality
The sensor features directionally polished optics and patented algorithms employing neural logic for reliable and stable measurements. It includes a built-in diagnostics function to maintain high-quality readings, compensating for deposits and gas bubbles.
Technical Details
The SuSix® sensor uses a six-channel optics system with pulsed infrared light and modified absorption measurement. It offers RS 485 transmitter output and is powered by the converter. The enclosure is rated IP 68, with optional mechanical wiper cleaning. The converter supports RS 485 input, analog and digital outputs, and is housed in a polycarbonate, glass-reinforced cabinet with an IP 67 rating.
