PHIX COMPACT

PHIX COMPACT

Product catalog summary
Overview
The pHix® Compact is an innovative pH and Redox transmitter designed for easy installation and maintenance, integrating the electrode, transmitter, and mounting into a single unit. It is suitable for wastewater treatment, water works, and industrial applications.

Design and Installation
The pHix® Compact features a unique design that eliminates high impedance electrode connections and special mounting hardware. It is simple to connect electrically, requiring only a loop-powered display and a 12 - 30 V DC supply. The device can be submerged for measurements in open channels and tanks or mounted in a 2” pipe T for pipe measurements. It is IP68 rated and can withstand a static pressure of 1 bar/10 mWG.

Output and Communication
The device offers a 4-20 mA output for pH/Redox or two galvanically separated 4-20 mA outputs for both pH and temperature, allowing direct connection to a PLC or indicator. All parameters can be set using HART® communication via the 4-20 mA signal.

Electrode Specifications
pH Electrode: Features a combined double junction with a flat glass membrane, low impedance, and a sintered PTFE reference junction. Estimated lifetime is 1-2 years.
Redox Electrode: Includes a platinum electrode with a sintered PTFE reference junction and KCl gel system. Estimated lifetime is 1-2 years.

New Electrode Features
The new electrode design offers low impedance and a large membrane, reducing sensitivity to fouling and extending cleaning intervals. It performs better in liquids with low ion concentration, such as desalinated or surface water.

Technical Specifications
  • Supply: 12 - 30 V DC, 2-wire loop supply
  • Temperature Range: -20 to +80 °C
  • Material: PPS (Ryton®)
  • Input Impedance: pH > 2 x 1012 Ω, Reference > 2 x 108 Ω
  • Measuring Range: 0 - 14 pH (-1000 to +1000 mV)
  • Output: 1 or 2 galvanically separated 4-20 mA
  • Communication: HART® Protocol

Calibration Methods
The pHix® Compact can be calibrated using three methods: a tilt switch activated by turning the transmitter upside down, a switch ring for setting standard buffer values, and HART® commands via the 4-20 mA loop.
