Reference Electrode – Ag/AgCl
The Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrode is a widely used reference electrode due to its stable potential during electrochemical experiments. It consists of a Ag/AgCl wire in a polypropylene body with 3M KCl as the supporting electrolyte. The electrode features a 10 mm Ag pin connector and is designed for easy maintenance, allowing for refilling with fresh electrolyte and regeneration of the Ag/AgCl wire. It should be stored in the dark at 2-8ºC when not in use.

Auxiliary/Counter Electrode – Pt and SS
Auxiliary or counter electrodes are used in three-electrode electrochemical cells, particularly for high current measurements. MicruX offers Platinum (Pt) and Stainless Steel (SS) auxiliary/counter electrodes. The Pt electrode features a 10 mm SS connector and a 0.3 mm Ø Pt wire, while the SS electrode offers robustness at a lower cost with a 1.6 mm Ø SS tube.

External Electrode Platform (EEP) for AIO Cell
The EEP platform (Ref. EEP-AIO-CELL) is designed to integrate external electrodes with MicruX’s thin-film electrodes in the AIO-cell. It facilitates the placement of external reference and auxiliary electrodes in static conditions, ensuring consistent positioning. The platform is made of PLA and measures 70 x 65 x 35 mm.
