Optical Amplifier (EDFAs)

Product catalog summary
Overview: Optical amplifiers are crucial for extending the reach of optical networks, including metro, regional, and long-haul systems. The MICROSENS Optical Amplifier modules, specifically Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs), enhance signal transmission over long distances without regeneration, supporting multiple wavelengths and operating independently of protocol and data rate.
Specifications: The modules are available in Booster, Inline, and Pre-amplifier configurations. They are designed to amplify signals over several hundred kilometers with a low noise figure and are easy to install with a plug-and-play setup. These amplifiers are suitable for both uni-directional and bi-directional modes.
Product Variants:
  • Optical Booster 15 dB amplifier unit with +17 dBm output for WDM applications (MS430860M).
  • Optical Booster 15 dB & Pre Amplifier 29 dB unit with +17 dBm output (MS430863M).
  • Optical Line Amplifier 29 dB unit with +20 dBm output (MS430864M).
  • Optical Pump Module for amplifier upgrade (MS430869M).
  • Optical Booster 25 dB Amplifier Module for narrow band applications (MS430801M).
Key Features: The amplifiers are data rate independent, support multiple wavelengths, and extend the reach of Optical and DWDM networks. They are designed for easy installation and use, enhancing network efficiency by reducing the need for costly signal regeneration.

Optical Amplifier (EDFAs)-1

Product Overview Optical Amplifier (EDFAs) Description Optical amplifiers are an essential component in metro, regional and long haul optical networks. The MICROSENS Optical Amplifi er modules allow optical signals to be transmitted over longer distances without the need for regeneration. It is simple and economical and can amplify multiple wavelengths to distances of several hundred km. The module is an Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifi er (EDFA) that is protocol and data rate independent. The module amplifi es optical signals in uni or bi-directional modes and may be ordered as a Booster or a Booster/Pre-amplifier. A third amplifi er available from MICROSENS is the module which is used for Inline amplification. It extends the distance of DWDM networks and in many cases eliminates the need for costly regeneration. Properties Booster, Inline and Pre-amplifier Data rate independent Amplifies multiple wavelengths to several hundred km Low noise figure Easy-to-install and use (Plug-and- Play) Extending reach of Optical & DWDM networks
