Reader Connector DeviceNet is a communication protocol managed by the Open DeviceNet Vendors Association (ODVA), with Controller Area Network (CAN) as the backbone technology. The protocol is used in the automation industry as a quick and economical way to network a variety of devices. Host Connector The DeviceNet DN-120 interface box easily connects any Microscan RS-232 bar code reader to a DeviceNet network. Mac ID and serial channel are rotary switch selectable or software configurable. Other DeviceNet interface box features include a loss-ofground protection circuit, fully isolated RS232 serial channel, and selectable serial baud rate (300 to 19.2k).
