General Characteristics
The MP720 series is a sealed position switch with positive opening operation, featuring a nominal switching capacity of 6A at 250VAC and a degree of protection rated at IP67. It complies with standards EN60947-1 and EN60947-5, ensuring reinforced insulation and a mechanical life of 10 million operations. The switch is designed for AC15 and DC13 types of use, with an assigned insulation voltage of 250VAC.

Construction and Materials
The housing is made of PBT reinforced with glass fiber, auto-extinguishing according to UL94V-O, and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +130°C. The sealing membrane options include chloroprene, silicone, and fluor rubber, each with specific temperature ranges. The cable is directly overmoulded into the housing, with options for PVC, silicone, or polyurethane materials.

Switching Diagram and Operation
The switch features a positive break contact (11-12) for positive opening operation and working contacts (23-24) for switching circuits. The actuator must be operated axially, with specific instructions for fitting to ensure proper operation and avoid mechanical endstops.

Fitting Instructions
When installing the MP720 switches, ensure the minimum positive opening operation travel is achieved, secure the switch to a rigid support, and position the cam to prevent maladjustment. Components should be selected based on temperature and chemical resistance.

Sample Applications
Applications include hinged and sliding doors, where the switch must be operated as the door opens. For machines operating at high revolutions with cooling fluids, an IP67 protected switch is essential.

Actuator Types
Various actuator types are available, including domed plunger, roller plunger, and roller lever, each with specific operating conditions and force requirements. The roller lever is recommended for rapid movements, with a maximum speed of 5m/sec and a strike angle of 30°.
