Microchip’s Smallest & Lowest Cost 32-bit Microcontrollers Summary The PIC32MX1/MX2 microcontrollers fit in a wide spectrum of cost effective applications that cut across various market segments like consumer, industrial, medical and automotive. These low pin-count MCUs are Microchip’s smallest and lowest cost PIC32 MCUs packing 83 DMIPS performance at just 50 MHz and integrate up to 128 KB Flash and 32 KB RAM. The PIC32MX1/MX2 series brings small footprint and 32-bit performance with a rich feature set including; two I2S™ audio CODEC interfaces; mTouch™ capacitive touch sensing; an 8-bit Parallel Master Port (PMP) for graphics or external memory; an on-board 1 Msps Analog-to-Digital Converter, as well as full speed USB 2.0 Device/Host/OTG. ■ MIPS32 M4K Core with up to 50 MHz/83 DMIPS ■ Two SPI/I2S interfaces for audio processing and playback ■ Charge Time Measurement Unit (CTMU) supports mTouch™ capacitive touch buttons and sliders ■ USB device/host/OTG ■ 10-bit, 1 Msps, 13-channel Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) ■ Peripheral Pin Select (PPS) for digital pin remapping ■ I2C™ provides multi-master capability and helps reduce cost & complexity ■ Temperature range: −40°C to 105°C Music-player docks Noise-cancelling headsets Clock radios Entertainment system sound bars Touch screen graphics displays USB device/host/OTG applications Embedded control Metering Smart sensor The PIC32MX1/MX2 devices are compatible with Microchip’s 16-bit PIC24F product line for easy migration, and are supported by the MPLAB®X IDE—the single development environment for all of Microchip’s 8-, 16- and 32-bit MCUs.
