Product catalog summary
Introduction
The PD140 Lightning Protection Device is designed for outdoor transmitter applications to prevent damage from lightning strikes, inductive switches, and static discharge. It offers both common mode and differential mode protection, ensuring the normal operation of transmitters and reducing potential losses.

Features
  • Compatible with 4-20mA current loops and RS485 signal channels.
  • Self-resetting capability.
  • Quick response time.
  • IP65 housing protection.

Specifications
  • Max flow for RS485 signal interface: ≥5kA (8/20us wave).
  • Max flow for 4-20mA channel: ≥10kA (8/20us wave).
  • Operating temperature range: -40℃ to 80℃.
  • Limited voltage for 4-20mA channel: 28V (2-wire to earth and between 2-wire).
  • Limited voltage for RS485: -7V to 12V (2-wire to earth) and 6.5V (between 2-wire).
  • Max working current: <40mA for 4-20mA channel and <120mA for RS485 channel.
  • Installation: 3 bolts fixing or lead rail.

Order Notes
  1. Install the device as close as possible to the transmitter's protected side.
  2. Ensure the cable diameter through the fixed connector is between 5-10mm for optimal protection.
  3. Ensure proper system earthing with a cable less than 1m in length and a cross-section area of at least 4mm². The earthing resistor should be less than 4 Ohms.
  4. Be aware of voltage drop: less than 2VDC at 20mA and 25℃, and less than 6VDC at 80℃, which may affect the load.
