They come with 1m multi-mode fiber pigtails with SMA connectors and core diameters of 50um or 100um. All modules have low spectral noise and very narrow line-widths which make them ideal for Raman spectroscopy, interferometry and holography applications. The Raman Laser Source Modules have the smallest spectral width of any visible diode laser source that Newport offers. All self-contained RLx Series Raman Laser Source Modules have superior optical quality and ultra-stable temperature, wavelength and output power control. The RLx Series modules feature a precision current source and a PID temperature controller. They operate at 5VDC and this lower operating voltage helps to create less waste heat within the laser module, thereby increasing diode lifetime, efficiency and reliability. Three types of Raman sources are featured: RLC Series - CW operation RLA Series - Analog modulation of up to 20 MHz RLD Series - Digital modulation (via TTL) of up to 100 MHz To modulate the RLA Series from below-threshold (at 0 V) to full power (at +1 V) requires an external VDC analog input (not included). To modulate the RLD Series from belowthreshold to full power requires a user-supplied external 0-5 V TTL modulation signal (0 V yields full power). Download the user's manual for complete operating instructions. All modules require an 5-12 VDC power source. Newport's LPMS and LIQS Series Power Supplies meet CDRH requirements by providing an interlock input, key enable switch, delayed start-up, and laser active indicator. These units are shown in the ordering table and must be ordered separately. Also, additional multi-mode core diameters and connectors are available.
