For many measurements, particularly of very low signals, optical disk diffusers are more practical and economical than other diffusing options. Our diffusers come in 1" and 1.5" diameter sizes and have a spectral transmittance range of 400 to 2,000 nm. • Significantly less expensive than integrating spheres • Improves uniformity of illumination • Reduces sensitivity to beam position • Reduces effects of angle of incidence changes on detectors Specifications Material Soda lime based material fusing low-iron glass and opalescent glass Diameter tolerance +0/-0.25 mm Thickness 2.2 mm Edge Finish Ground and beveled Surface Quality Commercial Polish Spectral transmittance range 400-2000 nm The diffusing properties of optical disk diffusers vary with wavelength. Use care when performing spectroradiometric measurements, as the diffuser will affect relative spectral distribution of light measured at any particular point in space. Unlike conventional beam viewers, Newport's UV beam viewer is suitable for high power applications, is cleanroom-compatible, and is transmissive. The UVU-2 housing provides threaded #8-32 and M4 holes to enable use as a "wand" or to be fixed on a bench using our standard posts. • Glows green when exposed to UV radiation • Observe laser mode structure, beam shape, and beam alignment • Suitable for high power applications • Cleanroom compatible Specifications Note: The UV Beam Viewer is designed to be a viewing tool only which is introduced to an optical system during alignment and troubleshooting. It is not intended to remain in the optical path permanently.
