The standard 12.7, 25.4, and 50.8 mm outer diameters are convenient for mounting into Newport rotary mounts. Specifications Ultraviolet Visible Near Infrared Recommended Wavelength 310–400 nm 430–670 nm 1100–1750 nm Polarizing Material Polymer film Material UV Fused Silica BK 7, grade A, fine annealed optical glass BK 7, grade A, fine annealed optical glass Wavefront Distortion ë/2 at 632.8 nm over the clear aperture ë/5 at 632.8 nm over the clear aperture ë/2 at 632.8 nm over the clear aperture Surface Quality 40-20 scratch-dig Transmission (unpolarized input, single polarizer)* TT >17% TT >37% TT >29% Transmission (unpolarized input, parallel pair)* H0 >6% H0 >28% H0 >18% Extinction Ratio k1/k2(crossed pair)* 150:1 minimum, 500:1 typical >700:1 minimum; 4,000:1 typical at 633 nm 1,000:1 minimum, 3,500 typical Transmitted Beam Deviation 2 arc min 1 arc min 2 arc min Reflectivity Ravg <2.0 %, 300–450 nm Ravg <0.5 %, 400–700 nm Ravg <0.5 %, 1200–1700 nm Diameter Tolerance ±0.13 mm Temperature Range -50 °C to 50 °C Damage Threshold 1 W/cm2 CW, 0.2 J/cm2 with 20 nsec pulses, visible, typical * Specifications are based on a 1 mm diameter beam. Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation may damage these polarizers. • UV, visible, and NIR polarizers • Low wavefront distortion • Standard diameters for convenient mounting • AR coated for maximum transmission Ordering Information Model Wavelength (nm) Diameter (mm) Clear Aperture (mm) Ultraviolet 10LP-UV 310–400 25.4 17.8 20LP-UV 310–400 50.8 30.5 Visible 05LP-VIS-B 430–670 12.7 5.1 10LP-VIS-B 430–670 25.4 17.8 20LP-VIS-B 430–670 50.8 30.5 Near Infrared 05LP-NIR 1100–1750 12.7 5.1 10LP-NIR 1100–1750 25.4 17.8 20LP-NIR 1100–1750 50.8 30.5 C POLARIZATION AXIS ø A ø B Dimension (mm) Model øA øB C 05LP 12.7 5.1 5.7 10LP 25.4 17.8 8.9 20LP 50.8 30.5 12.6 Please see page 437 for a tutorial on linear polarizers.
