Oriel® Radiometric Fiber Optic Source

Oriel® Radiometric Fiber Optic Source

Product catalog summary
Technical Reference Overview: This document provides detailed information about the Oriel Radiometric Fiber Optic Source, model 77501, which is designed for use with fiber bundles and liquid light guides.
Specifications:
  • The 77501 model uses a 100 W quartz tungsten halogen (QTH) lamp as its light source, suitable for VIS-NIR radiation.
  • The lamp has a filament size of 2.3 x 4.2 mm, making it compatible with fiber bundles and liquid light guides.
  • The lamp is replaceable with an average life of 50 hours.
  • Optical configuration includes an aspheric lens for collimation and a plano convex lens for re-imaging the lamp filament onto the fiber input.
  • Does not include a fiber optic; it accepts any 11 mm ferrule terminated Oriel Fiber.
  • F/# is F/1.5 with a spot size of 6.0 mm.
  • Lamp voltage is adjustable between 9 - 12 VDC with a maximum input power of 100 W.
  • Line regulation is ±0.5% for a ±10% change in line voltage, and light ripple is 0.1% pk to pk at 100/120 Hz.
  • Input power requirements are 100 - 130 VAC, 60 Hz at 1.5 A or 200 - 260 VAC, 50 Hz at 0.75 A.
Features:
  • Economical illuminator with highly stable light output.
  • Broadband output covering the visible to near-infrared (VIS-NIR) spectrum.
Ordering Information:
  • Model 77501 is available for order, but the fiber optic must be purchased separately.
  • Replacement lamp model 6333 is also available.
Figures:
  • Figure 1 illustrates the optical configuration of the 77501 Radiometric Fiber Optic Source.
  • Figure 2 shows the spectral irradiance of the 77501 Fiber Optic Source, highlighting its power density across different wavelengths.

The 77501 uses a 100 W quartz tungsten halogen lamp as the source of VIS-NIR radiation (see Fig. 2 for spectral output). It is completely integrated into a compact enclosure with prealigned lamp mount and fiber holder. Efficient Collection and Re-imaging Fig. 1 shows the optical arrangement of the 77501. The lamp is a 100 W QTH lamp with a 2.3 x 4.2 mm filament. This large filament is suitable for fiber bundles and liquid light guides. The lamp is replaceable (average lamp life is 50 hours). An aspheric lens collects and collimates the lamp output. A second, plano convex lens, re-images the lamp filament onto the fiber input. Does Not Include Fiber Optic The 77501 does not include a fiber optic. It accepts any 11 mm ferrule terminated Oriel Fiber.
