Choose a filter that starts transmitting just below the wavelength range of interest. Remember that it will transmit any second order above this cuton wavelength. As an example, if you want to scan from 450 to 900 nm, choose a 51272 Filter, which transmits from 415 nm. This will eliminate second order problems to ~780 nm. To measure longer wavelengths, stop the scan at 700 nm and insert a second filter, model 51330, for second order blocking to ~1300 nm. If you are scanning over a very wide band, as with our CornerstoneTM, multple grating instruments, you should consider using a filter wheel so you can easily switch filters during a scan.
