It is “normally closed.” The aperture is 0.4 inches (10 mm) in diameter. The thin, 0.8 inch (20 mm), profile allows flange or rod mounting in the middle of a tight optical train. The 71455 does not include a driver. It accepts TTL pulses to open and close. There is also an open/close switch on the shutter housing, for alignment of a source, detector or other system component. Timed Exposures You can produce repeatable, timed exposures with the 71455 Shutter and 68945 Digital Timer (described on page 226). Set the exposure time and interval, and the 68945 sends the timing signal to the shutter via TTL pulses. A 6 ft. (1.8 m) long Timer to Shutter Cable is included with the 68945 Timer.
