Mounts for Beam Probes

Mounts for Beam Probes

Product catalog summary
Technical Reference Overview: This document provides detailed information on various light source accessories, specifically focusing on mounts for Oriel Beam Probes.
Mount Types:
  • Rod Mount (Model 77612): A simple holder for beam probes that can be adjusted by sliding and securing with a set screw. Compatible with optical rods having a 1/4-20 thread.
  • Flange Mounts: Designed to connect beam probes to Oriel 1.5 Inch Series components. Available in fixed and adjustable types, these mounts are ideal for positioning a focusing beam probe at a monochromator entrance.
Collimating Beam Probe Connector: This component is an aluminum cylinder used to connect two collimating beam probes, facilitating energy transfer between bundles. It is not recommended for bundles with diameters less than 0.08 inch (2 mm) due to potential energy loss from reflection and misalignment.
Ordering Information: The document lists various models with their respective mount types and flange specifications, including:
  • 77612 Rod Mount
  • 77873 Fixed Female Flange
  • 77803 Fixed Male Flange
  • 77818 X-Y Adjustment Male Flange
  • 77801 Angular Adjustment Male Flange
  • 77808 Collimating Beam Probe Connector

We offer several mounts to hold the beam probes described on page 260. There are two types of mounts: • 77612 Rod Mount • Fixed and Adjustable Flange Mounts Rod Mount The 77612 is a simple rod mounted holder. Simply slide the beam probe into the best position and secure it with a set screw. It accepts any optical rod with 1/4-20 thread. An optical rod is not included. Flange Mounts for Beam Probes These holders have a 16 mm opening on one end to accept a beam probe and a 1.5 Inch Series female or male-flange on the other. They mate beam probes to Oriel 1.5 Inch Series components or instruments. They are useful for holding a focusing beam probe at the entrance of a monochromator. We offer two types: fixed (non adjustable) and adjustable mounts. Collimating Beam Probe Connector 0.62 DIA. FIBER OPTIC WITH BEAM PROBE (16) 0.62 DIA. FIBER OPTIC WITH BEAM PROBE (16) 1.0 O.D. It joins two Collimating Beam Probes (see page 260) to transfer energy from one bundle to another. Loss of energy occurs due to reflection losses at the bundle face and lens surfaces. Loss also occurs due to minor misalignment. We do not recommend this device for bundles with diameters less than 0.08 inch (2 mm). • Inexpensive rod and flange mounts • Models with adjustment capability Ordering Information Model Mount Type Flange 77612 Rod Mount N/A 77873 Fixed Female 77803 Fixed Male 77818 X-Y Adjustment Male 77801 Angular Adjustment Male 77808 Collimating Beam Probe Connector N/A See our website WEBfor more info
