The table below compares the most popular fiber optic sources. On this page we give details of the Mini Light Sources. For full specifications on the Apex Family, refer to page 157; for details on our new LED sources, see page 159. Table 1 Comparison of Popular Oriel Fiber Sources Mini Light Sources Apex Fiber Illuminators LED Fiber Sources Spectral Output 200 - 400 nm (deuterium only) 400 - 1100 nm (tungsten-halogen only) 200 - 1100 nm (dual source output) 180 - 1100 nm (lamp dependent) discrete 395 nm to 800 nm, with ~22 nm bandwidth, or white LED Output Power ~10 mW* (600 ìm fiber) ~21 mW (600 ìm fiber) ~ 0.5 W through 8 mm dia Liquid Light Guide Fiber Connector Type SMA SMA Liquid Light Guide Features Compact size, Dual source option, Low Cost Superior stability, High power, UV-NIR outputLong life, high intensity * Full spectrum output of T-H only source Mini Light Sources We offer two mini light sources ideally suited for transmittance and reflectance measurements with the IS and OSM Series of minispectrometers. The LSM-DT-S is a deuterium and tungstenhalogen dual source. You can run the lamps separately or simultaneously for very broadband output. The LSM-T-S is a tungsten-halogen source. Both sources have an integrated shutter for dark measurements. An SMA termination accepts any SMA terminated fiber; we recommend using a 200 to 600 ìm core fiber. Please order fiber separately, from page 1262.
