Holders for Oriel Flanged Components
Newport offers a range of holders for flanged components used in their Oriel instrumentation. These holders are designed to support optical accessories and are available in three models:
- 77648 Universal Flange Mount: Holds a male 1.5-inch series flanged component on a 3-inch optical rod using a thumbscrew.
- 77647 Adjustable Universal Flange Mount: Similar to the 77648 but allows for tilt adjustment within a 0.35-inch circle.
- 77809 X-Y Centering Flange Mount: Supports both male and female 1.5-inch series components, allowing X and Y axis translation with a sensitivity of 0.8 µm.
Step Down Adapters
These adapters allow for the conversion of larger flange series to smaller ones, facilitating the use of a wider range of accessories. The models include:
- 66292: Converts 2-inch series male to 1.5-inch series female.
- 66289: Converts 2-inch series female to 1.5-inch series male.
- 66290: Converts 3-inch series male to 1.5-inch series female.
- 66297: Converts 3-inch series female to 2-inch series male.
Z Bracket for Oriel Light Sources
The 66275 Z Bracket is designed to hold small housings for Quartz Tungsten Halogen Lamps, allowing for a lower optical axis height when rod mounted. This bracket is cost-effective and simple to use.

This "building block" approach lets you couple optical accessories at the input or output of these instruments. Many of these accessories also have 1/4-20 tapped holes for rod mounting. This is convenient for stand-alone use, or for long optical trains that require support. Here, we offer holders for flanged accessories that do not have tapped holes. These mounts hold 1.5 inch series accessories atop an optical rod. Various Models Available We offer 3 models of holders, differing in flange type and adjustment capability: 77648 Universal Flange Mount The 77648 holds a male 1.5 Inch Series flanged component atop a 3.0 inch (76 mm) optical rod. The component is held by a single thumbscrew. 77647 Adjustable Universal Flange Mount The 77647 is similar to the 77648 but has the added advantage of adjustment. You can tilt the male-flanged component in a 0.35 inch (9 mm) circle. 77809 X-Y Centering Flange Mount The 77809 holds any 1.5 inch series male or female-flanged component atop a 2.0 inch (51 mm) long optical rod, and translates it along the X and Y axes, within a 0.35 inch (9 mm) diameter circle.
