High-Energy Pinhole Apertures

High-Energy Pinhole Apertures

Product catalog summary
Technical Reference and Fundamental Applications
This document serves as a guide for selecting various optical components, including spherical lenses, cylindrical and specialty lenses, optics sets, optical systems, mirrors, and prisms.
High-Energy Pinhole Apertures
  • These pinholes are designed to withstand high laser damage thresholds.
  • They feature an ultra-thin substrate to minimize laser power loss and have smooth, round apertures.
  • Available in both mounted and unmounted configurations, suitable for use with Model 900 or 910A spatial filters.
Specifications
  • Material: Molybdenum, known for high heat conductivity and melting point.
  • Outside Diameter: 9.525 ±0.125 mm
  • Thickness: 15.24 µm (13 µm for 1 µm aperture)
  • Thread: 0.875-20 (910PH Series)
  • Damage Threshold: 75 MW/cm2 CW, 700 mJ/cm2 with 10 nsec pulses, typical
Ordering Information
The pinholes are available in various aperture diameters, each with specific model numbers for unmounted and mounted configurations:
  • Unmounted: PH-1.0, PH-5, PH-10, etc.
  • Mounted for 900 Spatial Filter: 900PH-1, 900PH-5, 900PH-10, etc.
  • Mounted for 910A Spatial Filter: 910PH-1, 910PH-5, 910PH-10, etc.
A complete pinhole set is also available under model numbers PH-SET, 900PH-SET, and 910PH-SET.
For more details on spatial filters, refer to pages 504 and 505 for the 900 Series Three-Axis and 910A Series Five-Axis Spatial Filters, respectively.

This material exhibits almost no warping due to localized heating by the laser. A smooth hole with extremely low ellipticity is produced using laser drilling techniques. They are available unmounted or mounted for use with our Model 900 or 910A spatial filters.
