They are ruggedly built to function reliably in a wide variety of environments. Small size, polarization insensitivity, low loss and low reflection come together to make these isolators ideal for integration in a multitude of fiber optic systems. They are provided in a bulkhead version, which has the advantage of eliminating the polarization disturbances caused by fiber pigtails.
