Visible and infrared emission is negligible. This makes deuterium lamps ideal sources for UV spectroscopy, and as UV spectral irradiance standards. Lamp Choices 63161 High Uniformity, Ozone Free • Output down to 180 nm • Very uniform beam distribution 63162 High Uniformity, Full Spectrum • Output down to 160 nm • Very uniform beam distribution 63163 High Irradiance, Full Spectrum • Output down to 160 nm • Very small arc, high intensity output 63164 High Irradiance, Ozone Free • Output down to 180 nm • Very small arc, high intensity output 63165 High Irradiance/Stability, Ozone Free • Output down to 180 nm • Uniform beam distribution and small arc 63945 Calibrated Lamp • Output down to 180 nm • Calibration data provided for 200 - 400 nm ranges 63946 Non Calibrated Lamp • Output down to 180 nm • Used to produce your own calibration standard 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 WAVELENGTH (nm) 63163 30 W D HIGH IRRADIANCE FULL SPECTRUM 2 63164 30 W D HIGH IRRADIANCE OZONE FREE 2 63165 30 W D HIGH IRRADIANCE/ STABILITY OZONE FREE 2 0.01 0.001 0.1 1.0 63162, 63945, 63946 30 W D HIGH UNIFORMITY FULL SPECTRUM 2 63161 30 W D HIGH UNIFORMITY OZONE FREE 2 IRRADIANCE AT 0.5 m (mW m nm ) -2 -1 Fig. 1 Spectral irradiance of Deuterium Lamps. Which Model Do I Choose Choose a lamp first by the shortest wavelength you need. If you aren't working below 180 nm, choose an ozone free lamp. (Please note, “ozone free” means reduced ozone.) The high irradiance lamps have a very small, 0.5 mm, arc; they produce both the highest irradiance and highest radiance, but are also more expensive than the high uniformity lamps. Safety Considerations Deuterium lamps emit high intensity ultraviolet radiation. Always use protective eyewear, clothing, and gloves when working in the vicinity of these lamps (see page 246 for UV safety equipment). • High UV output with minimal VIS and IR • Ozone free models minimize ozone problems • Small arc sizes, 0.5 and 1.0 mm Specifications Filament Voltage 10 V Anode Voltage 60 - 90 V Rated Current 300 mA
