Multimode, graded-index fibers, optimized for transmission at 850 and 1300 nm, are available with 50/125, 62.5/125 and 100/140 ìm core/cladding diameters, featuring large bandwidth and low attenuation. Single-mode fibers, optimized for transmission at 1310 and 1550 nm, are available with a 9.3/125 ìm mode field/cladding diameter. Cabled standard fibers have a 900 ìm outer jacket, surrounded by a layer of Kevlar® strands for added strength and protection. An outer PVC cable jacket, 3 mm in diameter, provides additional environmental protection. Cabled fibers have an operating temperature of -20°C to +80°C, and are identified by the -C suffix in their model number. High-temperature, multimode communication grade fibers are also available. The polyimide buffer coating applied to these fibers extends their upper operating range to +375°C and increases their chemical and abrasion resistance, enabling their use in harsher environments. High-temperature fibers are identified by the -T suffix in their model number. Hermetically sealed multimode and single-mode communication grade fibers are for applications in the harshest humidity and temperature environments. In these fibers, a carbon coating is deposited directly on the fiber cladding, followed by a polyimide coating, further enhancing the fibers’ resilience. These fibers are identified by the -H suffix in their model number. 1 m and 3 m single and multimode patch cords are available off-the-shelf, with either ST/SPC or FC/SPC connector terminations on both ends. *F-SMF-28: -60°C to +85°C • Suitable for light wave communication links and local area networks carrying voice, video and data • Standard, high-temperature (up to +375°C) and hermetically sealed fibers • Fibers available in any length • Connector termination upon request • Standard 1 m and 3 m patch cords with FC and ST connectors available off-the-shelf Specifications Multimode Model Operating Wavelength (nm) Index Profile NA Core Diameter (ìm) Cladding Diameter (ìm) Coating Diameter (ìm) Attenuation @850/1300 nm (dB/km) Bandwidth @850/1300 nm (MHz/km) F-MSD 850/1300 Graded 0.200 50 ±3 125 ±2 250 ±15 2.7/0.8 400/400 F-MSD-C 850/1300 Graded 0.200 50 ±3 125 ±2 250 ±15 2.7/0.8 400/400 F-MFD 850/1300 Graded 0.275 62.5 ±3 125 ±2 250 ±15 3.2/0.9 160/500 F-MLD 850/1300 Graded 0.290 100 ±4 140 ±3 250 ±15 4.0/1.5 100/100 F-MSD-T 850/1300 Graded 0.200 50 ±3 125 ±2 155 ±5 3.2/1.2 400/400 F-MFD-T 850/1300 Graded 0.275 62.5 ±3 125 ±2 155 ±5 3.5/1.5 160/300 F-MLD-T 850/1300 Graded 0.290 100 ±4 140 ±3 170 ±5 5.0/3.0 100/100 F-MLD-H 850/1300 Graded 0.290 100 ±3 140 ±2 172 ±2 5.0/3.0 100/100 Single-mode Model Operating Wavelength (nm) Index Profile NA Mode Field Diameter, Nominal (ìm) Cladding Diameter (ìm) Coating Diameter (ìm) Attenuation @1310/1550 nm, Maximum (dB/km) Cut-off Wavelength (nm) F-SMF-28 1310/1550 Step 0.13 9.3 ±0.5 125 ±1 245 ±5 0.35/0.25 1260 ±40 F-SMF-28-C 1310/1550 Step 0.13 9.3 ±0.5 125 ±1 245 ±5 0.35/0.25 1260 ±40 F-SSD-H 1310/1550 Step 0.11 9.3 ±0.5 125 ±2 155 ±15 0.70/0.60 1260 ±40 Notes: F-XXX-C — Cabled Fiber F-XXX-H — Hermetically Sealed Fiber F-XXX-T — High-Temperature Fiber Patch Cords Our most popular multimode and single-mode cabled fibers are now available in 1 m and 3 m lengths, with ST and FC connector terminations.
