Hex-head adjustment screws mean there is no knob for inadvertent adjustment. Using an Allen wrench results in a larger lever arm, and therefore higher sensitivity. A nylon-tipped setscrew provides secure locking of the adjustment screw. The setscrew can be positioned in any of three holes in the steel collet to allow easy access to the locking screw. These adjustment screws are threaded for mounting into a mating component. They are compatible with SL, SL-A, VGM, SB18YZ, and CT26 Series Optical Mounts. SM Series Micrometers are Newport’s most popular manual actuators and are available in travel ranges from 6–50 mm. SM Series metric micrometers have 0.5 mm pitch (50.8 TPI) threads and read directly in units of 10 ìm, with vernier reading of 1 ìm.
