Product catalog summary
Introduction
The RCS™ 300 flotation machine by Metso is a new concept designed to enhance flotation performance for roughing, scavenging, and cleaning duties. It combines the benefits of the circular cell concept with the unique features of the DV™ mechanism.
Design and Features
The machine features a carefully designed tank to maximize flotation recovery. It includes an active lower zone for solid suspension and an upper zone with reduced turbulence to prevent particle-bubble separation. The DV™ mechanism improves air dispersion and bubble size distribution, enhancing flotation performance and reducing operating costs.
Performance and Maintenance
The RCS™ 300 has been tested at the Asorco Hayden concentrator plant, demonstrating excellent performance. The DV™ mechanism is easily maintainable, and wear parts can be replaced without removing the mechanism. Air control is provided by a separate blower, and the machine is equipped with proven drive systems.
Tank and Cell Design
The circular tank design minimizes slurry short-circuiting, and the modular design simplifies construction and installation. The cell superstructure supports the flotation mechanism and drive, with options for environmental enclosures.
Testing and Optimization
Metso offers extensive flotation circuit analysis capabilities, including CFD simulation and DEM modeling, to optimize circuit performance. A 3m³ test cell is available for realistic scale testing, allowing for changes in operational parameters and collection of representative samples.
Specifications
The RCS™ 300 has a cell volume of 300 m³, a connected motor power of 250 kW, and air requirements of 35 Am3/min at 67 kPag. It is available in sizes ranging from 0.8 m³ to 300 m³.
Contact Information
Metso Corporation and its subsidiaries are located worldwide, providing contact details for offices in Finland, Sweden, USA, South Africa, Australia, India, Peru, Chile, and Brazil.

Tank design features • Circular tank concept with low level slurry entry and exit to minimize slurry short circuiting. • Modular tank design to simplify construction, s hipment and site installation. • Cell superstructure designed to rigidly support the flotation mechanism and drive and to act as a s upport for both the drive maintenance platform and a walkway which extends across all cells in the fl otation bank. Where environmental regulations a pply, the complete cell top can be enclosed to m inimize the release of ultra-fine particles into the concentrator atmosphere. • Wear protection...

Extensive CFD simulation and DEM modelling has been done to ensure the right scale of parameters and good performance. Excellent performance Recovery losses in the flotation circuit should be seen as a lost opportunity. Metso has extensive flotation circuit analysis capabilities. This includes the ability to characterize the operation of the cells in a flotation circuit using cell hydrodynamic and froth sensors, conduct and manage flotation circuit surveys, mass balance survey results, analyze mineral liberation data and develop models for flotation circuit simulation. These results can be analyzed...
