Overview
The Svedala Gyrotor is a rotating vane air classifier designed to separate dry solid particles by size, particularly effective for particles 35 mesh or finer. It can achieve products with 99.9% passing 325 mesh and an average particle size of 5 microns or finer, making it suitable for ultrafine applications.

System Efficiency
When integrated with a grinding mill, the Gyrotor system enhances grinding efficiency by controlling product size, improving energy efficiency, and providing a transport system for ground material. It can handle feed rates from 0.1 to 200 tons per hour, depending on the cut point and material density.

Operation Mechanism
Material from the mill is air conveyed into the classifier, where centrifugal forces separate particles. The speed of the rotating element determines product size, with coarser particles being returned to the mill and finer particles conveyed to product collectors. The system allows for dust-free operation by maintaining a negative pressure and venting air to an auxiliary dust collector.

Additional Features
Heated air can be introduced to remove moisture from feed material. The system can also function independently as a classification-only system, producing fine and coarse fractions.
