The OPTO Optical Port Reader is designed for communication between electricity meters with an IEC 62056-21 (formerly IEC 1107) port and reading devices with RS-232 or USB 2.0 ports. It is suitable for both portable and stationary meter test equipment.
Specifications
The OPTO reader is available in two models: OPTO-RS and OPTO-USB. Both models feature a magnetic head for mounting, with the OPTO-RS weighing 100 grams and the OPTO-USB weighing 65 grams. The device dimensions are 32x24mm, with a magnetic holding force of 15N and a bit rate of 19200 bit/s. The cable length is 1.80 meters.
Communication and Compatibility
The OPTO reader supports communication via RS-232 or USB 2.0 ports. It operates under the IEC 62056-21 standard, allowing for data and register state reading. Additional features such as tariff changes are available with constructor codes.

The OPTO optical port reader is a device that enables communication between any type of electricity meter equipped with a port according to IEC 62056-21 (old IEC 1107) and a reading device equipped with an RS-232 or USB 2.0 port. The OPTO reader can be used with both portable and stationary meter test equipment. In case of using OPTO reader with stationary test equipment, it gets connected to the system through the RS-232 port of the IPO individual stand controller.
