MK61 Wire Flame

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Metallisation MK61 is an oxygen-acetylene fueled flamespray system designed for engineering coatings, particularly for materials like steels, bronzes, copper, and molybdenum. It is suitable for small to medium-sized applications, offering both soft bond and hard, wear-resistant coatings. The system is also applicable for anti-corrosion coatings when propane is unavailable.
Key Features:
  • Lightweight and robust design, easy to maintain and operate.
  • Supports wire sizes from 1.5mm to 4.76mm (3/16”).
  • Offers a choice of coating textures with optimal parameter settings via flowmeters.
  • Can be toolpost mounted and is ideal for low volume engineering coatings.
Applications:
  • Reclaiming damaged parts.
  • Coating bearing and seal surfaces.
  • Providing wear coatings and fine coatings with low heat input.
Material Specifications:
  • Molybdenum: 99E, 3.17mm (1/8"), with a maximum coverage of 1.02 m2/kg/100um.
  • Copper: 05E, 3.17mm (1/8"), with a maximum coverage of 0.915.9 m2/kg/100um.
  • Bronzes: 10E and 15E, 3.17mm (1/8"), with a coverage range of 0.91 - 1.16.0 m2/kg/100um.
  • Zinc: 02E, 3.17mm (1/8"), with a maximum coverage of 0.9115 m2/kg/100um.
  • Aluminium: 01E, 3.17mm (1/8"), with a maximum coverage of 3.573 m2/kg/100um.
  • Steels: Various grades (30E/35E/45E, 55E/57E/60E, 65E/80E) with wire diameters of 0.91 - 1.14.0 - 4.53.17mm (1/8").
Performance: The system provides a maximum throughput of kgs/hr, with all figures being approximate.

MK61 Wire Flame-1

Flamespray MK61 The Metallisation MK61 is an oxygen-acetylene fuelled flamespray system, primarily for spraying engineering coatings of steels, bronzes, copper and importantly, Molybdenum. The lightweight, robust pistol offers the possibility to reclaim damaged parts for small to medium sized applications. Molybdenum can also be sprayed with the MK61 as a soft bond coat through to a very hard, wear resistant coating. The MK61 system can be used for anti-corrosion coatings where propane is not readily available. New in 2008 is a more compact ARF and mounting board.
