MK61-FS Wire Flame

Product catalog summary
Specifications:
The document provides specifications for the Metallisation MK61 FS flamespray system, which is designed for spraying engineering coatings. It supports wire diameters from 1.5mm to 4.76mm and can handle various materials including steels, bronzes, copper, and molybdenum. The system is capable of producing both soft bond coats and hard, wear-resistant coatings.

Material Performance:
  • Molybdenum 99E: Wire diameter of 3.17mm, maximum throughput of 0.7 kgs/hr for bond coat and 2.5 kgs/hr for hard coat, with coverage of 1.02 m²/kg/100 µm.
  • Steels (30E/35E/45E, 55E/57E/60E, 65E/80E): Wire diameter of 3.17mm, throughput of 4.0 – 4.5 kgs/hr, coverage of 0.91 – 1.1 m²/kg/100 µm.
  • Copper 05E: Wire diameter of 3.17mm, throughput of 5.9 kgs/hr, coverage of 0.91 m²/kg/100 µm.
  • Bronzes 10E and 15E: Wire diameter of 3.17mm, throughput of 6.0 kgs/hr, coverage of 0.91 – 1.1 m²/kg/100 µm.
  • Zinc 02E: Wire diameter of 3.17mm, throughput of 15 kgs/hr, coverage of 0.91 m²/kg/100 µm.
  • Aluminium 01E: Wire diameter of 3.17mm, throughput of 3 kgs/hr, coverage of 3.57 m²/kg/100 µm.

System Features:
  • Oxygen-acetylene fuelled system suitable for small to medium applications.
  • Lightweight and robust design, easy to maintain.
  • Flowmeters for optimal parameter settings and easy lighting.
  • Can be toolpost mounted and used for anti-corrosion coatings.

Applications:
  • Wear coatings
  • Engineering coatings
  • Reclaiming parts
  • Bearing and seal surfaces
  • Molybdenum coatings
  • Fine coatings with low heat input

Additional Information:
The system was updated in 2013 with a more compact ARF and freestanding mounting board. It is particularly useful where propane is not available.

MK61-FS Wire Flame-1

\ The Metallisation MK61 FS is an oxygen-acetylene fuelled flamespray system primarily for spraying engineering coatings of steels, bronzes, copper and importantly, Molybdenum. The lightweight, robust pistol offers the possibility to reclaim damaged parts for small to medium sized applications. Molybdenum can also be sprayed with the MK61 FS as a soft bond coat through to a very hard, wear resistant coating. The MK61 FS system can be used for anti-corrosion coatings where propane is not readily available. New in 2013 is a more compact ARF and freestanding mounting board. ■ Sprays wide range of materials ■ Wire sizes 1.5mm to 4.76mm (3/16”) ■ Choice of coating textures ■ Easy to maintain H Flowmeters give optimal parameter setting ■ Easy lighting ■ Robust but lightweight design ■ Easy to maintain ■ Can be toolpost mounted ■ Can be used for anti-corrosion coatings Typical Applications: ■ Engineering coatings ■ Reclaiming parts ■ Bearing and seal surfaces ■ Wear coatings ■ Molybdenum ■ Fine coatings with low heat input
