Specifications
The ARMYLOR® range includes three types of products: ARMYLOR® G (standard range), ARMYLOR® V (vacuum and pressure range), and ARMYLOR® S (special range). These products conform to the DESP 97.23 EC European Directive and can be supplied with stainless steel or low-temperature steel shells. The nominal diameters range from DN 15 to DN 600 for accessories and piping elements.
Materials and Standards
The lining materials include virgin or anti-static PTFE and PFA, adhering to ASTM and DIN standards. The products are manufactured with controlled characteristics such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and thermal properties.
Quality Assurance
The Pagny-sur-Moselle site is ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified, ensuring environmental and quality standards. The manufacturing process includes checks for mechanical, physical, and electrical properties to maintain product integrity.
Manufacturing and Testing
Carbone Lorraine employs advanced techniques like iso-moulding and PFA transfer moulding. The products undergo various tests, including dimensional, electrostatic, hydrostatic, and pneumatic checks, to ensure durability and performance.
Installation and Maintenance
Installation procedures emphasize precautions such as cleaning, bolt tightening, and vent hole management. The company provides a field forming kit and supports for installation.
Additional Features
Components are made from steel or iron, with certifications available upon request. The company is qualified in various welding standards and offers vent holes for pressure management and corrosion detection.
Conclusion
Carbone Lorraine's ARMYLOR® range is a comprehensive solution for handling corrosive fluids, backed by rigorous quality control and international standards compliance.
Specifications
The document outlines the specifications for lined piping systems, including the use of couplings at vent holes for different lagging thicknesses. Electrical continuity is ensured by connecting elements with conductors linked to earth. Two types of earth lugs are available, made from stainless steel 304 or 316, with other materials available upon request.
Painting
The standard coating is a 40-micron thick zinc silicate primer on shot-blasted steel, adhering to the S.A 2.5 cleanliness level. Additional surface preparations and coatings can be applied as needed.
Manufacturing Controls
Dimensional inspections include checks for perpendicularity and flange positioning, painting thickness, and absence of protruding elements. Optional non-destructive tests like X-ray and welding penetration tests are available.
Dimensional Tolerances
Lined components have specific dimensional tolerances, with a 5% tolerance for PTFE/PFA collars.
Testing
Temperature cycle tests are conducted according to ASTM F1545, involving 100 steam/cold water cycles to test the lining's stress resistance.
Inspection Procedures
Inspections include dimensional and visual checks, electrostatic checks with specified voltage potentials, hydrostatic checks at 1.5 times operational pressure, and pneumatic checks.
Traceability and Marking
Traceability is ensured through markings on steel and finished products, including cast reference numbers and order details. Additional markings can be provided upon request.
Packaging
Straight lengths are packed as floor-mounted loads or in wooden crates, while fittings are packed in wooden or cardboard boxes on pallets.
Installation Procedures
Recommendations for installing ARMYLOR® lined lengths and fittings include precautions for handling, cleaning, and bolt tightening. Specific torque values are provided for different DN sizes.
Additional Features
Vent holes should not be obstructed, and periodic inspections are recommended. A field forming kit is available for on-site assembly, and weights of components are provided as guidelines.

Elbows
The 30° and 60° elbows are not part of the DIN 2848 standard. They are available in standard construction types P (DN 15 to DN 50) and W (superior DN). Custom options include fixed and loose flanges, and ductile iron elbows.
Tees
Equal and reducing tees are available in ductile iron with standard construction types P and W. Options include loose flanges and ductile iron construction. The document lists dimensions and weights for various DN sizes.
Reducers
Concentric and eccentric reducers are available with fixed flanges. Customization includes options for fixed and loose flanges. The document provides detailed dimensions and weights for different DN sizes.
Flanges
Reducing flanges are available with tapped or through holes. The document specifies dimensions, hole types, and weights for various DN sizes.
Materials and Linings
Options include PTFE, anti-static PTFE, PFA, and anti-static PFA, with specific DN ranges for each material. The document emphasizes the importance of selecting appropriate linings based on application requirements.
Customization and Standards
The document highlights the availability of custom configurations, such as loose flanges and specific material linings, to meet diverse application needs. It also notes deviations from standard specifications, such as the DIN 2848 standard.
