Open the catalog to page 5High Performance Norm-Motors – Series MPM Merkes GmbH product lines present state asynchronous norm-motors can be replaced by synchronous motors by new materials, existing technical know-how and experience of line production. The loss of engine power is reduced to about half. The MPM motor series (Merkes permanent magnet motor) takes up the basic physical principle of the synchronous motor and combines it with other elements of a proven principle motor serial production. o Based on draft standard EN 60034-31 o Very good motor efficiency Motor housing and ratings of norm-motors IE 4 Suitable...

Open the catalog to page 8High Performance Norm-Motors – Series MPM An operation in Y-star connection is also possible, however, the speed range when using a frequency inverter at a supply voltage of 400VAC is limited to maximum 2000 min-1. The known torques and the rotation speed dependent mechanical power defined by equation (1), remain the same. The maximum permitted speed in intermittent operation of 4000min-1 can be achieved only through the field weakening operation of the drive, which is exacerbating the available torque. If this option for your process comes into question we kindly ask you to contact us. An...

Safety Advices o All operations on transport, assembly, start-up and maintenance have to be done by skilled and qualified personnel only. The qualified personnel must know and observe the following standards and guidelines: DIN VDE 0105, IEC 364, accident prevention regulations Deviant behaviour may cause serious injury to persons and may lead to damages. o o The machines comply with the standard IEC/EN 60034. Before mounting and start-up carefully read the documents on hand. Follow the instructions for power supply (motor label...
Open the catalog to page 10High Performance Norm-Motors – Series MPM Important Notes 4. Important Notes The Norm - Motors of the MPM series are precision motors. They are not intended to be connected directly to a rotary current power supply system. They have to be operated only by a particular frequency inverter having “Sensorless-Vector-Control” mode. A direct connection to main supply will lead to the destruction of the motor. To fit zero backlash drive elements strictly use the intended thread at the motor shaft and if possible warm up the drive elements. Only use suitable tools to fit the drive elements. Avoid...

About this manual This manual describes the High Performance Norm-Motors of the MPM series with permanent magnets and it is directed towards specialized staff having knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering. The Norm-Motors are operated together with the corresponding frequency inverters. Therefore absolutely follow the documentation of the inverters, too. 5.2. Provisionary use The Synchronous High Performance Norm-Motors are designed to be operated by frequency inverters only . A direct connection to main...
