Operation As soon as the seat occupancy sensor SBS is actuated, the seat is classified as occupied. When the SBS is not actuated, the seat is classified as not occupied. A short circuit in the supply lines is recognised as 0 ohm. As an option, a diagnostic resistor Rd can be integrated in order to recognise a break in the lines.
