Product catalog summary
Interchangeable Bushings Overview
This document outlines the specifications and procedures for QD, Taper, and MST® bushings, focusing on installation, removal, and dimensions.

QD Bushings
Installation/Removal: Surfaces must be clean. Mount by sliding onto the shaft and securing with a set screw. Tighten pull-up bolts alternately. For removal, use bolts to release the cone grip.
Specifications: Includes dimensions and weight for various sizes with mounting instructions.

Steel Bushings
Available in various sizes, re-borable, with detailed dimensions and keyway specifications.

Standard and Short Bushings
Dimensions and applications, especially for conveyor systems, are detailed. Short bushings are for limited space applications.

Taper Bushings
Installation/Removal: Similar to QD bushings, emphasizing clean surfaces and alignment.

Weld-On Hubs
Suitable for welding to steel sprockets, available in standard and short versions with specified dimensions and tolerances.

Safety and Compliance
Emphasizes proper installation and maintenance for safety and compliance with ANSI B15.1 standards.

Installation Procedure:
  • Ensure all surfaces are clean.
  • Align the bushing in the component, avoiding threaded holes.
  • Thread screws into half-threaded holes and mount on the shaft.
  • Torque screws alternately to recommended settings.
  • For larger bushings, use a block or sleeve to hammer the large end.
  • Repeat torquing until consistent.
  • Fill unoccupied holes with grease.
Removal Procedure:
  • Remove screws.
  • Insert screws into designated holes to loosen the bushing.
  • Follow installation instructions for reinstallation.
Safety Warning:

Follow procedures to prevent accidents. Use products as per specifications. Ensure proper installation, maintenance, and operation. Conduct inspections for safe operation. Guard all rotating power transmission products as per laws and standards (ANSI B15.1).

Bushing Specifications:
  • Bushings cannot be bored larger than the largest listed bore.
  • Consult factory for machining hub dimensions.
  • Hub diameters depend on application and material strength.
Dimensions and Keyseat Information:

Lists bushing sizes with bore sizes, weights, and keyseat dimensions. Provides tables for taper bushings and weld-on hubs with installation and removal specifications.

Additional Notes:
  • Space is needed for tightening and loosening bushings.
  • Some bushings are available on order.
  • Metric and reborable stock taper bushings are available with specific bore sizes and keyways.
