Freeze Drying / Lyophilisation Freeze Drying / Lyophilisation Freeze drying or lyophilisation is by far the gentlest way to remove moisture from materials. The physical phenomenon of sublimation means a direct transition from the solid state to the vapour state without passing through the liquid state. The frozen material is dried under vacuum without thawing. Example Applications Accessories from Christ enable tailored solutions for individual applications. The modular system architecture makes adaptation to altered requirements easy, even a long time after the basic unit was acquired. The units in the Advanced series can be operated as one-chamber or two-chamber systems as desired with the appropriate accessories. Many accessories, such as acrylic chambers, can be used on basic units with capacities from 4 kg to 24 kg ice capacity. A number of example systems are described below.
