Power generation Selection guide - Low voltage

Product catalog summary
Generator Applications
This section provides guidance on selecting low voltage generators, focusing on types such as ODP, TEAAC, and TEWAC. It covers applications for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz with various winding configurations and voltage ratings.

Rating Definition
Generators are rated for prime and stand-by power. Prime rating supports variable load operation for unlimited hours with temperature rise classes B, F, and H. Stand-by rating is for emergency power during outages with specific temperature rise ratings.

Operating Conditions
Includes altitude and ambient temperature adjustments, with derating factors for installations above 1,000 meters and temperatures deviating from 40°C. The nominal power factor is 0.8 lagging.

Connections
Details various connection configurations such as star, delta, and zig-zag, with derating factors. Guidance on single-phase operation and air filter impact is provided.

Overloads
Generators can handle 10% overload for one hour every six hours during continuous duty. Stand-by duty does not permit overloads.

Technical Specifications
Includes tables of specifications for continuous and stand-by duty ratings, efficiency, moment of inertia, and weight for various models.

Specifications
Details specifications for TEWAC Generators MJR - LV 6 poles, including power ratings, efficiency, and temperature rise classes for models like MJR 400 LA6, MJR 450 MB6, and MJR 500 MB6 at 60 Hz and 480 V.

AVR Selection Table
Includes an AVR selection table listing types like MARK VX, MARK V, MGC I, MGC II, MEC-20, and MEC-100, their compatibility with generator frame sizes, supply options, and voltage sensing configurations.

Functional Features
Outlines features such as parallel operation capabilities, standard protections, limiters for under-frequency, auxiliary inputs, PC interface, and soft start functions.

Contact Information
Provides contact details for Marelli Motori's offices worldwide, including addresses, phone, fax, and email contacts for locations in Italy, Asia Pacific, UK, South Africa, Central Europe, USA, Middle East, China, Vietnam, and Spain.

Operating conditions Rating definition Prime rating Prime rating is the maximum power available at a variable load for an unlimited number of hours. Marelli Motori low voltage generators are class H insulated as a standard feature. Under these conditions three different classes of temperature rise are allowed and are here below represented as over-temperature above the reference ambient temperature (ref. amb. Temp. is 40°C as defined in IEC 60034): Class B temperature rise: generator can reach a temperature rise of 80° above 40° ambient temperature. Class F temperature rise: generator can reach...

Overloads The nominal power factor is 0,8 lagging. For different power factor values the following derating factors must be applied. This overloads must be occasional and followed by one hour of running at normal load or less. Stand-by ratings are based on conti-nuos supply of loads for any utility power failure. No overloads are allowed in stand-by duty. 10% for 1 hour Overload during S1 15% for 10 minutes continuous duty 30% for 4 minutes Single phase operation MXB The rated outputs of MXB three-phase (12-wire) wound generators, when reconnected for single phase operation, can be obtained by...
