REFRACTORY HEATERS Marathon refractory insulated ring, disc and strip heaters are constructed by embedding high temperature nickel chromium resistance wire in a special high thermal conductivity refractory compound. The unit is then hydraulically compacted and sintered in a controlled atmosphere furnace, resulting in a rugged, long lasting heater. High temperature, coated steel (750°F.) and stainless steel (1200°F.) sheaths are available.
