Product Overview

The ALA5 is an ATEX approved strain gauge/load cell amplifier designed for hazardous zones 0, 1 & 2. It provides a 2-wire 4-20 mA current loop output and is suitable for signal conditioning of strain gauges, load cells, pressure, and torque transducers. It is intrinsically safe to EN60079-11 standards and housed in a stainless steel IP67 NEMA 4 EMC protected enclosure.

Case Study

A paint manufacturer needed a remote display for a storage tank in a hazardous area. Using existing strain gauges connected to an ATEX 4-20mA Load Cell Amplifier (ALA5), a 4 to 20mA current loop was established via a barrier network to a panel display instrument, providing a tank level alarm for the operator.
