M-64 Fixed Set point Flow Switch

Product catalog summary
Overview
The document provides technical details about non-adjustable flow switches, specifically the M-64 series by Malema. These switches operate based on a magnetic piston that responds to fluid motion, actuating a hermetically sealed reed switch for alarms or controls.

Specifications
- Flow Range: Water: 0.1 to 7.0 gpm, Air: 1.0 to 70 scfm.
- Materials: Available in Brass, PVC, 316 Stainless Steel, and PTFE.
- Port Sizes: 3/8” FNPT and 1/2” FNPT.
- Set Point Accuracy: ±10% max.
- Repeatability: ±2%
- Hysteresis: ±15%

Features
- In-line flow switch with low pressure drop features.
- Senses increasing or decreasing flow.
- Hermetically sealed and universally mountable.

Applications
- Sample flow monitoring, alarm actuation, purge flows, loss of flow protection, semiconductor etch tools, and laser cooling equipment.

Installation and Operation
For proper operation, fluid must flow from the inlet to the outlet port. The switch can be mounted in any orientation. The flow set point is fixed at the factory and requires specific calibration information such as fluid type, density, viscosity, system pressure, and temperature.

Electrical Specifications
- SPST: DC Resistive: 10 Watts, AC Resistive: 10 VA, Switching Current: 0.5A, Carrying Current: 1.2A.
- SPDT: DC Resistive: 3 Watts, AC Resistive: 3 VA, Switching Current: 0.25A, Carrying Current: 0.5A.

Ordering Information
Part numbers are structured to identify model, material, port size, switch type, and piston type. Custom requirements can be accommodated by contacting the factory.

M-64 Fixed Set point Flow Switch-1

Non-Adjustable Flow Switches M-64 Series Fixed setting flow switch with in-line flow re F e a t u re s • • • • • • In-line flow switch with Low PD features. Low pressure drop features. Senses increasing or decreasing flow. Very accurate custom flow settings. Hermetically sealed. Universal mounting. • • • • • • Sample flow monitoring. Alarm actuation. Purge flows. Loss of flow protection. Semiconductor etch tools. Laser cooling equipment. Applications Operation The operating principle is based on a magnetic piston which responds only to the motion of fluids within the line, not to static or system pressures. In the presence of fluid flow, controlled movement of the piston actuates an external hermetically sealed reed switch. This switch can be used to actuate audible or visual alarms, as well as relays, or other controls.
