MAGUIRE Product Data Sheet The Sweeper™ System 48 Series The Sweeper™ automatically unloads material from bulk boxes or octabins without human intervention. Design The Sweeper ‘sweeps’ the top level of polymer to a slotted pickup tube that vacuums the pellets up through a flexible suction hose to the destination. The whole lower section descends and rotates in a way that forces the pickup tube to vacuum up the material without interruption, including the material that is swept into the corners of the container by the sweeping process. Ultimately, less than 4Kgs (10 lbs) of material remains in the container. Operation A sturdy structural steel stand straddles the bulk box /octabin allowing easy front access. A set of vertical “rails” carry a “trolley” up and down above the container. Model SW-4815 The trolley carries a fixed, standard 38mm, 50mm or 63mm (1.5”, 2” or 2.5”) aluminum material conveying tube, and is coupled to a second tube below, that rotates. The lower rotating tube is driven by a gear motor, on demand, at about 1 RPM. A 1m (3 foot), flexible vacuum hose has a short slotted pick up tube at the end to effectively vacuum up the pellets and transport them to the destination. Pellets in the center are “swept” to the outside by a cross member, that serves as the “sweeper”. As the vertical tube rotates, the flexible portion is dragged across the top of the pellets, in a swept back trailing manner, reaching into each corner and repeatedly vacuuming pellets from the sides and corners. A counter balanced spring-loaded cable prevents the weight of the trolley from becoming buried in the resin. Key Features • Vacuum sensor switch dictates rotation only during material conveying. Manual operation is possible via the ‘Jog’ feature. • Material is constantly moved to the vacuum point automatically without human intervention. • Effective material removal ensures no wastage. • Eco Footprint slightly larger than the bulk container. • Low torque and rotation speed provide inherent safety – guards are not required. • Pallet truck / forklift access positions the container - vertical clearance to 1220mm [48”] • Operates on 230 V supply, consuming less than 2 amps. • Lights indicate when the unit is “ON” and when it is rotating, vacuum detected. • Any of vacuum conveying methods can be used (single phase, three phase or central) • Two Sweepers can be linked together using the “Dual” option to provide a continuous supply of material.
