MOTORIZED CABLE REELS Magnetek’s motorized cable reel product line is a superior solution to effectively and compactly manage large lengths of cable. Motorized cable reels are useful for a variety of marine terminal applications, including Ship-to-Shore Container Cranes, Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes, and Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes. SHIP-TO-SHORE CONTAINER CRANES (STS) STS cranes enable efficient loading and unloading for marine applications. Motorized cable reels facilitate vertical movements of spreaders and horizontal mobility of container cranes. Cable reels are proven systems for energy and data transfer, making short cycle times due to high lifting and trolley speeds possible, as well as horizontal flexibility of the crane. RUBBER TIRED GANTRY CRANES (RTG) RTG cranes most commonly stack standard containers. There has been a recent trend toward electrification of RTGs versus earlier power via diesel generator systems. When retrofitting RTGs with motorized cable reels, overall fuel consumption, harmful emissions, and maintenance downtimes can be significantly reduced. RAIL MOUNTED GANTRY CRANES (RMG) RMG cranes position standard containers in sequence between container corridors.
