Product catalog summary
Introduction
The LASTO®WALL C wall and slab bearings by mageba combine elastomer and cork to facilitate stress-free spans and distortions in residential construction while offering high damping of structure-borne noise. These bearings do not affect the load-bearing capacity of brickwork, even in extreme conditions like earthquakes.

Principle
According to Swiss Norm SIA 181:2006, noise insulation requirements are often unmet with standard construction methods. LASTO®WALL C bearings minimize vertical noise transmission, and LASTO®ISOPIPE provides an efficient solution for noise prevention at cable ducts.

Application Areas
These bearings are used for damping structure-borne noise, secondary noise transmission paths, and uniform force transmission.

Properties
LASTO®WALL C bearings can withstand high loads up to 7 N/mm², have high reserves in the customary load range (up to 2 N/mm²), low creepage under static loads, are tear-resistant up to 0.9 N/mm², elastic in compression and tension, resistant to ageing, and are supplied in rolls for easy installation.

Compression Characteristics
The compression of LASTO®WALL C increases with load and thickness. Graphs illustrate the compression variations for different types under load.

Installation Procedure
Wall Bearing: Ensure the floor is smooth before installation. The bearing should project approximately 15mm on the plastered side. Butt-joint sections and secure with adhesive tape.
Slab Bearing: Apply a mortar layer on the masonry, smooth it, and place the bearing on the dried layer. Butt-joint sections and secure with adhesive tape.

Product Range
LASTO®WALL C bearings are available in various sizes and types, including KL 3.2, KL 5.0, and KL 8.0, with availability from stock or within five working days. They are also available as sheets.

References
Examples of installations include Käppeliweg, Olten, and Coop Tägipark, Wettingen.

Prospect LASTO®WALL C-1

Bearings LASTO®WALL C Wall and slab bearings for damping of structure-borne noise The principle The LASTO®WALL C wall and slab bearings combine the good characteristics of elastomer and cork. This combination allows the spans and distortions normally arising in residential construction to be facilitated stressfree and also offers high damping of structure-borne noise. LASTO®WALL C wall and slab bearings do not influence the load bearing capacity of brickwork and, consequently, the brickwork’s complete bearing capacity can be relied upon, even in extreme cases such as earthquakes. Secondary noise transmission paths Application areas The Swiss Norm SIA 181:2006 specifies noise insulation requirements, which are often not achieved using normal construction methods. In such cases the use of wall high quality bearings is required to minimise the vertical transmission of noise through the building. mageba’s LASTO®ISOPIPE also offers an efficient and economic solution for the prevention of noise transmission at cable ducts. 2 Properties No weakening of the brickwork Studies according to SIA 266:2003 to determine the bearing capacity of brickwork have shown that a number of well-established wall and slab bearings reduce the bearing capacity of brickwork by up to 80%. The brickwork’s bearing capacity can then only be fully utilised with the use of additional reinforcement and associated extra effort. Such extra costs and effort can be avoided by the use of LASTO®WALL C wall and slab bearings as proven by tests conducted by the Test and Research Laboratory in Sursee, Switzerland test certificates M 530-1 and M 530-2...
