The Macpresse two-stage shear design and the heavy construction of the ram combined with the 170 tons of thrust allows the baler to cut the most difcult material without shock. This is accomplished due to the fact that the compacting cylinder and the bale extrusion channel adjusts automatically as required by the material to be compacted. The MSS diagnostic system is composed of a Siemens-type operator panel and a control program patented by Macpresse. This feature assist the personnel identify electrical, mechanical or hydraulic malfunctions easily. A fault is identied with a digital photograph highlighting the area of concern. Additionally, detailed reports are generated documenting production data, number of bales made by grade, downtime, electric power consumption per ton, average hourly production and labour cost per ton. This information and analysis is stored using an Excel format. The operator panel comes with a modem that permits remote maintenance of the baler functions. In order to decrease the density of heavy incoming materials such as coated paper and magazines, upon request the baler can be equipped with a hydraulically powered leang device that avoids the unnecessary use of the chopper. The electric system is equipped with special “SCART” connection plugs providing quick wiring on the main control panel, the hopper and the binder. An optional proportional valve can be added to the hydraulic circuit that permits the manual setting of the desired compacting pressure for each grade.
