Glass Quality The effects of AEROFLAT tempering technology 1 Glass quality is a customer requirement that is becoming more and more important. Familiar quality topics involving tempered glass like roller waves, roller pick ups, white haze, glass distortion, and anisotropy, just to name a few, represent a challenge in the glass production industry, and they require regular cold cleaning cycles, experienced operators, time, and reduced batch configuration, which leads to increased operating costs. The unique and innovative air cushion technology of the AEROFLAT tempering furnace not only...

Anisotropy with Common Tempering Technology 6 Lighting with completely parallel polarised daylight – Brewster angle. Analysis of the stress orientation makes it possible to visualise the worst case scenario of anisotropy. Anisotropy with AEROFLAT Air Cushion Technology Conventional tempering technology vs AEROFLAT air cushion technology Anisotropy has been at the centre of our attention in recent years in particular, since it can have a large influence on the quality of a glass product. Anisotropy is the result of stress distribution in the glass that causes birefringence. Depending on the...

Transport Zone 15° for AEROFLAT Continuous Furnace Freefall Outlet for AEROFLAT Tempering Furnace The sheets are transported at 15 degrees inclination, individually, with adjustable cycle times. The glass sheets are transported out of the cooling zone at a 15 degree angle. As soon as the back edge has passed the sensor, the edge support pivots downwards and the glass sheets falls (freefall) onto the horizontal transport table. Technical Data
